Dance With the Devil

So. We finally got routed home! It was a headache and a half for everyone involved, but it finally happened, and in time for Thanksgiving too! We were so relieved to be home and just crash. We planned it so one day was with one family, one with the other, and one with Rick's friend. We hardly slept either, we wanted to enjoy being home as much as possible. Rick got the new Call of Duty and played it alot, he loves it. I'm more of a Halo fan so I didn't.

We had saved our laundry for a while because we knew we were going home, so I did a mountain of laundry the first night in. Since we were only staying three days, I didn't bother putting it away, so the basement was pretty messy. Since we are used to living in a small space, we spend most of our home time in the bedroom anyway. Kitty was so happy to see us, I cried when we first saw him because it had just been way too long. He didnt quite know what to do when he saw us, and he was still sad while we were there. It broke my heart. I'm so glad we got to bring him with us!

All in all, being home was nice just to see people, but we couldn't relax. We knew we would be leaving soon so it wasn't all that fabulous. Honestly now, the truck is our home. We feel more comfortable being out on the road than being at home. It's our life now, and we love it.

Now. Kitty. We were so worried about bringing him because we thought he wouldn't be able to handle it. When we left, it was really sudden and we just threw him in the truck and left. At first he didn't like it of course, mostly because his first car ride was to get his balls chopped off... he does this thing where he pants like a dog but he looks like one of those taxidermy bobcats because of his fangs, and it's really sad but we laugh because it looks so freaking funny. He did that for a while, then explored the truck, and meowed constantly like a siren. That was the first day. The second day he was still edgy but started to mellow out, and now, he just sleeps most of the time. We are so surprised and relieved that he's taking it so well now :) now we are a truckin family! He has a harness and leash in case he wants to go outside, and he hates that harness with a passion, I have to get a picture of it. We took him out once but it was super windy and the truck's air brakes went off so he got scared, so most of the time he just sleeps when we leave the truck. Every time Rick gets out though he goes on the driver's seat and looks out the window, meowing. He is such a daddy's boy.

I have to say, all in all, I love this trucking thing. We get to be together all the time, we are always moving and seeing new places, and getting paid to do it.

Life is good.

Until next time,
Lola, Rick, and Kitty

  1. Hahahaha! I absolutely love it! I love that he is calming down and enjoying trucking with you two. I also love that you have called the truck home, because that is what it really is for you two. It was so nice to see you and it is so hard to have you gone already, but I think it makes our relationship stronger. We can really enjoy the time we have together. Thanks for having the blog, it makes it a lot easier. I love you both so much!!!

  2. How did I just see this? lol. I LOVE the new background it's perfect and easy to read while giving the feeling we are on the road with you :). Soooooo glad Kitty is loving the road with you, and that you guys get to be together. That's what being a family is about, doesn't mean a mansion and six cars and a boat. It's the people with you and can be anywhere (or in your case, everywhere). Love it and love you. Hugs from chilly Utah...
